Its Thursday

Mental challanges this week!

Trying to be a dad, I am pretty dang good at it!

Trying to be a husband, uhhhhhhh. LOL

Trying to be a pastor, I am PERFECT at that (perfect in failure :)

Monday started at 4am ended at midnight

Tuesday started at 5:30 am, I do not remember when it ended

Wednesday started at 5am it ended around 11pm

Thursday, let me see....

Its lightly snowing

Its cold

Its warm where i am at

I met a former church leader (not from CPC) who was very impressive (he and his wife were and are VERY humble)

I have got to speak with two HUGE business leaders today and they feed my passion (not for money, but for people)

The guy behind me right now just called his daughter to tell her it was snowing. Apparently she has not taken time to look outside and her dad knew that

I am fed up with people who are "into their feelings ALL THE TIME") That was including me, i get sick of myself to before you might call it judging

The little old lady setting in front of me has a contagious laugh, I am gonna tell her thank you before i leave.

I get to go visit someone in the hospital in a moment. When I start working a "full time" job that wil not happen as often as people think it should for a "pastor" LOLOL

My son just called me and needs me to fix his headlight switch, uhhhh ok, now I am a mechanic? Well, I will try then I will call my bro in law to do it right :)

Dangerous Transparency

This is one of those most dangerous things to do, but if it helps me (or someone else) it is well worth it.

Church people who don't "gossip" but "pray" about people - yuck, Really now?! HA!!!!!!

I still morn the death of my brother after almost a year and a half
My dad was diagnosed with dementia
Being a husband
Being a dad
Being a human!

THINGS THAT I KNOW
I love Jesus
I love my wife
I love my kids
I love Mexican food

THINGS THAT I WISH, HOPE FOR, ETC.....
The greatest success for my kids
That I can have lasting peace
A bunch of money (you know you want that one too!)

Childish Prayer

OK, this is going to sound kinda like a childish deal.....
My wife is an RN for a local cardiologist. From time the time she gets to travel to various places for training in their field of cardio.
Recently, she was told that they are going to send her to New York City. All of her expenses are paid. (Praise the Lord!)
We are coming up on our 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!! (Feb.11th)
There is NO WAY that I would be able to go on this trip. NO WAY AT ALL! So, we decided that she needs to go ahead and let them book her flight and I would just sit this one out. No big deal.
She really wanted me to go.
No money AT ALL was available for me to go.
NONE.
ZILCH.
NATTA!
Last night a friend of mine (former member at CPC) called me.
His name is Mason.
Mason was already scheduled to come and be a guest speaker this weekend at CrossPoint Church.
We were going over some details about this weekend’s service.
I told him Tami will not be there this weekend, and told him why and that I was looking forward to their visit us.
His response.....
"Randy, I have some flyer miles built up that I will never use"
My response.....
"Holy crap!!!" (or at least that was what I was thinking on the inside)
He called me later that evening and said check your email the round trip tickets are in your box.
Yep, they are.
Mason even paid the transfer fee (100 bucks) for us.
So, God said ok to our simple prayer.
Yes, I KNOW ITS GOD THAT SAID OK!!!!
Yes, like I said, this sounds childish.... but I am gonna play like a child in NYC, and enjoy our 20th wedding anniversary!
After all, Jesus did say to "become as a child".
Just a Thought.....

Promise

Noah stepped out of the ark. He had to be exhausted from all of the time on that boat with his family, , critters and creatures of every kind.

I wonder what his emotions were like? Did he get wore out from the complaining of his family members (even in safety) did he get sick of the smell (even in safety) did he ever doubt, fear or wonder if God forgot about him and those under his care?

I do.... I have fears

We all do

We fear so many things.

We fear people, the future, the present

Some of us fear our past

Others fear, fear.

Noah came out of the ark after God opened the door.

Noah looked up into a clearing sky and saw a "bow" in the sky. A rainbow

God told Noah that this will be a reminder to you and future generations that I will never destroy the earth by flood again

It was a promise.

It was a visual reminder.

It was a sign from God

His promise still stands

God has NOT forgot about you.

What ever He promised you still stands

He will open the door. And close some as well

Listen, look. He has promised you that He will never leave you or forsake you

Its written

Its His promise to you.

Real smiles

When was the last time you had a smile that was child like?

A real smile.

Eg.

As I picked up the kids on my school bus route it was snowing.

As they walked outside their little faces lit up!

No worries about the icy roads

All they could do is speculate and plan how they were gonna play in this first winter weather in Little Rock

Oh I wish I could develop that smile again.

A smile that is not aroused my motivation

Or motivated by people

I want a real, innocent smile.
